What Are Levies?

Supplemental Levy:

In Idaho, a supplemental levy is a local property tax that districts can ask voters to approve to provide additional school funding. These levies are typically used to cover gaps in funding for operating expenses that state funds, such as teacher salaries, classroom supplies, extracurricular programs, transportation, and maintenance don’t fully support.

School Plant Facilities Reserve Fund Levy (Facility Levy)

Idaho’s School Plant Facility Reserve Fund Levy is a specific type of property tax levy that school districts can use to raise funds for major capital improvements related to school facilities. This levy is separate from other types of levies, such as supplemental levies, and is focused specifically on building and maintaining school infrastructure.
