Welcome to the Hansen School District. We are a progressive rural school district serving approximately 350 students in grades PreK-12. The district boasts excellent instructional staff and up to date technology. Through aggressive grant writing, we have been able to supplement our curriculum and resources to allow teachers to be creative in meeting the needs of our students. The grants we were awarded last year include the Idaho School Improvement Grant, Monsanto, STEM, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and the I3 Scale Up Writing.

We value parents input and invite you to visit the school, call your child’s teacher or principal, attend Board meetings and athletic activities and in general be a part of our community.

So, if you are new welcome and if you are returning welcome back! This is truly a great district and we all feel fortunate to be a part of it.

End of Year Parent Survey

As this unusual school year comes to a close, planning for next year has taken on a different significance. Though we believe that a traditional face-to-face experience with a teacher and peers in a classroom setting is the best learning environment for students, we now know we must be ready to adapt to other models should the need arise or occur. We are seeking input from families so we are more prepared in the future should social distancing rules and bans on large groups be needed to keep our students safe. With this goal in mind, please complete the following survey. If you have more than one child attending Hansen Schools, you can take the survey multiple times: please answer for your oldest child first.

Thank you for your support!

Message from the Superintendent

Hello Hansen SD #415, Parents, Students, Patrons, and Staff:

As many of you have heard, the Idaho State Board of Education voted to extend the soft closure of Idaho schools through the rest of the year with the caveat that a local board could decide to reopen if social distancing requirements are lifted and state-wide criteria are met (criterion will be developed over the coming week and any decision to reopen would be done in coordination with the local health department). This decision effectively extends the soft closure here in Hansen for the remainder of the 19-20 school year. For now, I encourage all staff, students, and families to plan as if distance learning will continue for the remainder of the year.

Our administrators will be working with teachers to identify and communicate the vital things we need students to master to close out the year. Our staff has appreciated all the support the families of our students have given to assist in their children(s) education during this unprecedented time. Let's continue to work together to make the next couple of months the best they can be!

As the situation with COVID-19 changes so rapidly, please know our intent will be to do everything we can for our seniors and their graduation. We will continue to provide district updates as the weeks progress.

Sincerely,
David Carson
Superintendent Hansen School District #415
